Numerous intriguing user interfaces can be unlocked with an adjustable potentiometer. The resistance changes when you turn the pot. Attach VCC to one of the outer pins and GND to the other. The voltage on the middle pin will fluctuate between 0 and VCC based on how the pot rotates. To obtain a variable input from the user, connect the microcontroller's center pin to an ADC!
