FEATURES:
This light-dependent resistor (LDR) is inexpensive. In essence, it is a light-sensitive resistor; when the surface is exposed to light, the resistance will drop. It is frequently used to determine whether it is day or night, like in automatic vehicle porch lights, for instance. The resistance of this non linear sensor can reach 500K ohm when it is not exposed to light. However, under regular room conditions, it will be between 10 and 20K ohm when the light is not on. The resistance decreases to 1K or less when the light is turned on.
